waterproof layer

Q:  I am interested in your cloth pads and I wonder if they have a built in layer of waterproof material like pul (polyurethane laminate)?

A:  The pads waterproof layer is a backing of soft breathable fleece.  I don’t use pul as it doesn’t breathe and can cause heat and irritation (and tends to break down easily so the pad life is decreased).
